Young Readers

Story Time on the Rug

Every Saturday morning, neighborhood children gather by the low picture book bins for read-aloud sessions and simple paper crafts. We keep extra copies of school reading lists on hand throughout the term.

After-school homework assistance is available at the center oak tables. High school volunteers and quiet staff help students work through algebra sets, history packets, or printed research assignments.

Genealogy & Records

Preserving Family Records

Our quiet back corner houses archived township cemetery indexes, microfilm reels of defunct Carroll County gazettes, and bound high school yearbooks spanning seventy seasons.

Community Donations

Township Ledgers & Letters

Residents frequently deposit family Bibles, historical farm deeds, and turn-of-the-century photographs with our volunteer archivists for safe preservation and public scanning.

Public Resources

Quiet Work & Practical Help

Our four desktop computers are connected to high-speed internet with monochrome and color laser printing available at cost. Volunteers can guide you through state job filings, federal tax form printouts, or resume formatting without an appointment.

For readers seeking conversation, our monthly book club meets on the fourth Thursday evening to discuss notable midwestern fiction, memoirs, and American history. New participants are always welcome to pick up the monthly title at the front desk.
